Mugs' Muffin Madness

- Retelling
- We handed off the artifacts
And asked if we could all go nap
She told us that we certainly could
And that the job we did was good
We headed straight to the bar
And discussed all that we knew so far
We had some pizza with cut potato
Then to our houses we did go
Taking a pinecone, dear, sweet Will
Thought she’d give Juniper a thrill
A fishtail within the ‘cone she placed
And in melted coins it was encased
At the chime of the morning bells
We all met at the Citadel
Into the Teal Room did we sashay
To hear what the Law Master might say
He’d brought a muffin, perhaps from home
While we had not even a single scone
Sweet Mugs, sensing our hunger pangs,
Made with stealth and left the gang
She set off to procure some muffins
And disguised herself to do some bluffin
She found a cache of delicious pastries
But in her seizing them was hasty
The Master of Coin called her out
Her assumed identity in doubt
Quickly in trouble Mugs had landed
Benthey had caught her bread handed
Why the stealing, he must know?
“I simply wanted muffins to go”
Benthey seemed to be impressed
But asked the matter be redressed
To the Room of Teal Mugs was hauled
Selene found her and was appalled
Selene claimed Mugs was an errant sis
And asked Mugs’ stealing be dismissed
Benthey saw through the charade
And laughed off the whole escapade
He let us go, which left us thrilled
“But next time I will send a bill”
We set off to a hideaway
Where Saladbar had once stayed
The guard had come and tossed the place
But now our group was on the case
We searched the place high and low
Even into the privy we did go
We found some broaches that transformed
And cloth for secret cult uniforms
Hoj found a hollow wall
Which opened up into a hall
Where Saladbar had self-trained
In ancient arts that were arcane
He had researched anti-magic
The results of which, we know, were tragic
To become a lich also seemed his goal
But didn’t reveal where he placed his soul
He had a whole cache of reports
From the Expeditionary Force
Scouting out three different sites
To where Saladbar might take flight
We’d told the guards of our find
And hoped backup wasn’t far behind
A troop of soldiers did arrive
But said we wouldn’t leave alive
