- On a summer's day in my youth, I once plucked a tiny ladybug from a leaf, held it close to my eye, and pondered what the world would look were the two of us to exchange places. Would I marvel at the giant creature's red wings and black spots? Would the bug regard me with kindness and wonder?
Only an innocent youth can conjure such a wistful fantasy. In reality, only terror and anguish awaits those who encounter an entomological creature the size of a modest cottage. They are temperamental creatures unable to be reasoned with, vicious and single-minded in purpose, ruthless in onslaught. My daydream of lady bugs has been replaced with nightmares of tunnelling creatures lusting for blood.
Large creature with vile indigestion prone to spewing forth corrosive acid. If possible, give it a wide berth. Able to simultaneously stab multiple assailants. Outer skeleton hard to pierce and hearty of constitution. 1 star.
- Remembrance
- Oh bilious beetle, you assaulted my peers
But then I tricked your simple mind into fear
And your head from your body Juniper did shear
When you turned to run and showed us your rear
